It’s a common saying that “He who doesn’t know where he is coming from, doesn’t know where he is heading.” It is imperative to note that every living thing is expected to grow if well nurtured. The invasion of western culture is responsible for our people rising departure from our diverse Africa styles and cultural heritage. We African will not be doing ourselves any justice if blame the westerners for our cultural negligence. Instead we Africans in entirety should rise up to revive and propagate our enviable African cultural heritage and unique style across the globe. Our culture belongs to us, we cannot be better in trying to be someone else but we can the best in redefining ourselves through our cultural values.
We have chosen to abandon our roots and so who truly is an African? Who says our ladies can’t be chubby and yet look beautiful or hair-plaited and unique? Our traditional attires now turns to what we wear only on special occasions, why?.
Everyone seems to love the life they see on screens. Parents, do you scold your kids when they speak their mother tongue? How much do you love to hear your kids speak in their mother tongue?
